Presidential Scholarships for International Students at Illinois Institute of Technology, USA

Students who are granted an official nomination by their institution’s President and admitted to IIT are considered by IIT’s scholarship committee for the Presidential Scholarship. Recipients of the Presidential Scholarship receive: $23,500 annual tuition scholarship award $5,000 annual housing scholarship award to support on-campus residence at the university Up to $5,000 stipend for undergraduate research through IIT’s Undergraduate Research Scholars Program† *Presidential Scholars are asked to maintain a commitment to STEM+ community outreach each academic year that engage and bridge their home and sending communities with the communities at the university, in the IIT/Bronzeville neighborhood, and the city of Chicago. Additionally, recipients of the Presidential Scholarship must maintain full-time enrollment and make satisfactory academic progress. † Consideration for the $5,000 Research Stipend requires the completion of additional paperwork and is dependent on availability. Eligibility:
 Applicants are eligible to be considered for the Presidential Scholarship if they:
 -Have completed (or will complete) their Associate’s Degree at the eligible nominating institution from which that student is directly transferring*
 -Have attained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 on an 4.0 scale at the nominating institution, or are a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and are in good academic standing at the college at time of nomination
 -Have proven intellectual and academic achievement of a high standard, as well as a clear and demonstrated interest in one or more of the following academic fields of study: Science, Psychology, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or Architecture
 -U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents are required to complete the FAFSA no later than April 15th of each academic year that they are enrolled at the university. International students are also eligible for the Presidential Scholarship. If you are ineligible to complete the FAFSA, you are still eligible for the Presidential Scholarship but should not fill out the FAFSA.

Scholarship Application Deadline: October 15, 2011 for Spring 2012, or by May 1, 2012 for Fall 2012.
