ASM Undergraduate Research Fellowship in Microbiology

The ASM Undergraduate Research Capstone Program (UR-Capstone) is the successor program to the ASM-Microbiology Undergraduate Research Fellowship Program, formerly the Minority Undergraduate Research Fellowship program from several years ago. The goal of this program is to “fulfill the later stages of undergraduate professional development” for underrepresented minority students (URM). This program seeks to enhance the presentation skills of students after their research experiences.

The Faculty of the Professions’ Business, Economics and Law (BEL) Postgraduate Scholarships are available to Indonesian and Thai students who are seeking entry into one of the priority programs in Semester 1 of 2012The University will grant up to five Scholarships of AUD $5000 each to applicants commencing in one of the priority postgraduate coursework degrees at the Faculty of the Professions in Semester 1 of 2012. The Scholarship provides a one-off payment for living allowances only and will be paid to the Scholarship recipient upon their arrival in Adelaide.

The Faculty offers 10 bursaries, each valued at $2,000, to school leavers who enrol as full-time students at James Cook University. The value of each of the ten bursaries shall be $2,000 or such amount as the Selection Committee determines from time to time. Each bursary shall be awarded for the first year of the recipients full-time undergraduate study, and shall be paid in two equal instalments on or about the 30th March and 30th August.

Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research, University of Copenhagen provide Postdoctoral Fellowship in the field of Biophysical and Structural Studies of SUMO Modified Signaling. The postholder will work in an interdisciplinary group with members from the CPR as well as other external parties. The internal collaboration will primarily involve Drs. Niels Mailand and Simon Bekker-Jensen at the Ubiquitin Signaling group at the Center. Experienced scientists from the participating organizations provide supervision and advice to junior staff members on a regular basis, and provide an excellent training ground for cross-disciplinary research projects.

Most students opt for the non-thesis option (eight half courses plus extended research paper) given that it is the standard in most graduate economics programs in North America. The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and the Fellowship Fund for Pakistan are pleased to announce the 2012-13 competition for the Wilson Center’s Pakistan Scholar Program. One Pakistan Scholar, either from Pakistan or of Pakistani origin, will be selected each year. Successful applicants will spend 9 months in residence at the Woodrow Wilson Center, in the heart of Washington, D.C., where they will carry out advanced, policy-oriented research and writing. This scholar program is made possible by generous financial support provided by the Fellowship Fund for Pakistan, a charitable trust based in Karachi.
