International Postgraduate Research Scholarship at University of the Sunshine Coast, Australia

University of the Sunshine Coast provides Postgraduate Research Scholarship for international students at the university in Australia, in the field of subjects offered by University. Awards are available for a period of 2 years for a master level research degree and 3 years for doctoral research degrees. USC funded IPRS equivalent scholarships may also be awarded to meritorious candidates both during the annual scholarship round and outside the annual scholarship round at the discretion of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research).
PhD Position in Adaptive MicroNano Wave Systems at EPFL, Switzerland

This project, funded by European Space Agency (ESA) and the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), concerns the design of dynamically reconfigurable millimeter wave devices and antennas, which is becoming a prime need in space-related applications. In this context, we propose to conduct a PhD thesis related to the analysis, design, and implementation of mechanically-reconfigurable millimeter wave devices using microfabricated actuators. This PhD thesis work will comprise both theoretical microwave/antennas and more practical issues related to the implementation and measurement of the designed devices.
German Chancellor Fellowship for Prospective Leaders

The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH) awards up to ten German Chancellor Fellowships annually to young, prospective leaders from the USA, the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China with funds made available by the German Federal Foreign Office. The fellows must have shown outstanding potential for future leadership in their previous careers. The programme is established under the patronage of the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany and addresses applicants from all professions and fields of study giving preference to the humanities, law, social and economic sciences. The aim of the programme is to give young leaders from the countries mentioned above the opportunity to spend an extended period of time in Germany at an early stage in their careers. After returning to their careers in their home countries, they have the potential to become – because of their intensive experiences in Germany – intermediaries between their home countries and Germany as they assume important positions in the fields of business, science, politics and society.
Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development Scholarship Program, Japan

Japan International Cooperation Center provides Master Scholarship Program in the field of Promotion of Economic Growth and Strengthening of International Competitiveness, Improvements in Living and Social Conditions and Corrections of Disparities, Environmental Conservation, Strengthening of Governance for the applicants from Vietnam. The Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS) program has been started in Vietnam since 2000. Up to now, total of 304 fellows have been sent to Japan under the program. JDS program is now inviting potential applicants who understand its aims and are interested in 2-2.5 year master degree program at Japanese accepting universities for the academic year 2012-2013.The program will be instructed in English. The number of fellows is 30 per year.

The FMI International PhD Program provides advanced, interdisciplinary training in epigenetics, neurobiology and signaling & cancer. PhD students admitted to the program receive theoretical and practical training, and conduct a research project under the supervision of an FMI group leader, monitored by a Thesis Committee of university professors and experts chosen by the student.

Students admitted will benefit from a tuition waiver (up to €18,000 a year) for the duration of their stay at their host ParisTech Grande école. Students will have to fund their travel costs to and from France and their living costs for the duration of their study (approximately €8,000 a year). Additional Scholarships covering these costs may be awarded to outstanding students by the French authorities, by industrial sponsors and by the foundations of ParisTech schools. Over the last 3 years, more than 70% of the international students admitted by ParisTech obtained a financial support.

2012 VLIR-UOS Awards Scholarships to Students from Developing Countries, Belgium

VLIR-UOS provides Training and Masters Scholarship for Students from Developing Countries for studies at Belgian Dutch speaking university in the field of various subjects. VLIR-UOS awards scholarships to students from developing countries so that they can follow a master or training programme in Flanders, Belgium. For 2012, VLIR-UOS awards 180 scholarships to first-year master students and 70 scholarships to training participants.

Based on KDI’s hand-on experience on development policy, the Master of Development Policy (MDP) program examines various socio-economic issues in both the theoretical and the practical framework. The program provides capacity building for international professionals, including government officials, development consultants and regional specialists who wish to contribute to development policy making. Additional focus falls on fostering professionals in the field of Official Development Assistance (ODA) The Master of Public Policy (MPP) program is designed to provide a global perspective and professional expertise in public policy areas. The program is highly regarded both in and outside Korea, particularly among developing nations and government officials. The faculty with outstanding research backgrounds and empirical knowledge offer a leading curriculum that integrates theory and practice. Students may declare a concentration from among 7 concentrations upon completing 39 credits toward their graduation requirements.
2012 Joint Japan & World Bank Scholarship for Developing Countries at Yokohama National University, Japan

The World Bank annually awards five scholarships to the PPT program. The first level of screening of candidates will be done at Yokohama National University. The final decision regarding scholarship recipients will be made by the World Bank. The scholarship covers a monthly allowance of JPY170,000 (the amount is subject to change), and a round-trip air ticket to Japan plus a travel allowance of JPY60,000. The monthly stipend is intended to cover living, commuting and other incidental expenses during the student’s study period. The next scholarship program runs from April 2012 to March 2014. This cannot be changed under any circumstances. In addition, the scholarship covers tuition, entrance examination and admission fees. Travel expenses for some program-sponsored field trips are also included.
