The LRI PhD programme starts with a three-day induction course, to give students a head start in getting to know each other, the LRI and its staff. Interactive sessions cover various topics including keeping on top of the literature, organising your lab work and lab book, getting the most out of journal clubs, and experiment design. Other key points in the student programme include the 10 minute talks that students give at the end of their first term, and the research seminars and reports that students complete in their second year as part of the process of upgrading their registration from MPhil to PhD.

Islamic Development Bank provides Masters Scholarship Program for Students of Least Developed Member Countries of IDB in Science, Engineering, Technology, Medical Sciences, Statistics, Demography, Econometrics, Operational Research and other related fields. The objective of the M.Sc. is to assist Selected LDMCs in the development of their human resources in science and technology that are both relevant and necessary for their socio-economic development. The Programme is open only to students from the 20 Selected LDMC. To increase the number of intermediate level manpower in Selected LDMCs (i.e. the M.Sc. graduates) and to enable them to participate in the IDB Merit Scholarship Programme for High Technology (MSP).

Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation funded Undergraduate Scholarships in Mathematics, Science, Engineering, Education, Public health or Library science in USA. Funded by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, was established in 1999 to provide outstanding African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American, and Hispanic American students with an opportunity to complete an undergraduate college education in all discipline areas and a graduate education for those students pursuing studies in mathematics, science, engineering, education, public health or library science. The goal of GMS is to promote academic excellence and to provide an opportunity for thousands of outstanding students with significant financial need to reach their fullest potential.

Students who are admitted to Colby-Sawyer and meet the criteria for the academic scholarships that we offer, are automatically granted them at the time of admission. In addition to these automatic scholarships that are given at the time of admission, students may also apply for other merit/talent based scholarships. These additional funds are based on such criteria as community service and leadership, art, original research and so on. The provider also offer a nonbinding Early Action admission program, meaning that if students apply by December 1, they still have until May 1 to make their decision and they will also be notified earlier. Early Action has with it a component of a scholarship of $2,000/year, plus any other scholarships that the student might qualify for.

The Japan-IMF Scholarship Program for Asia (JISPA) was first introduced in 1993. It is funded by the Government of Japan, administered by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and conducted at various graduate schools in Japan. Its objective is to contribute to institutional capacity building in economic policymaking to promote the sustainable growth of emerging and developing economies in Asia and the Pacific. By training future macroeconomic managers in these countries, the JISPA aims to enable them to better formulate sound economic and financial stability policies needed for sustainable growth and development.

Nellie Thomas Group provides Undergraduate Scholarships for Australian citizens in the field of Medicine or Health at Griffith University in Australia. The Nellie Thomas Scholarship was founded in 2008 in memory of Nellie Bertha (McDowell) Baker and Thomas McDowell. The aim of the Scholarship is to assist an indigenous student studying in the field of Medicine/Health. The scholarship will financially assist applicants on low incomes with additional cost associated with university.

The Bioinformatics Centre, Department of Biology, University of Copenhagen is recruiting 1-2 postdocs to work on gene regulation bioinformatics in Albin Sandelin group. The Bioinformatics Centre employs around 40 researchers, and has many international connections with high-profile experimental groups. The group is housed in the newly built Biocenter in central Copenhagen, Denmark. The Sandelin group is a well-funded, joint computational/experimental laboratory, focusing on transcriptomics, gene regulation and disease. The postdoc(s) will be working on various problems relating to gene regulation and core promoters in disease, typically analyzing novel and extremely rich data sets from the experimental part of the group or high-profile international collaborators.
