Stanford University provides Summer Fellowship in the field of Democracy and Development at Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies in USA. The program brings together a group of approximately 28 practitioners in law, politics, government, private enterprise, civil society, and international development from transitioning countries. Previous Draper Hills Summer Fellows have been presidential advisors, senators, attorneys general, lawyers, journalists, civic activists, entrepreneurs, academic researchers, think tank managers, and members of the international development community and even a former prime minister, hailing from more than sixty different countries. The program is highly selective, receiving several hundred applications each year.
