Desert Schools Community Service Scholarship Committee provides Undergraduate Scholarship for graduating high school senior enrolled and study at an accredited two- or four-year college or university located in Arizona, USA in the field of subjects offered by the university. The completed applications of eligible applicants will be evaluated by the Desert Schools Community Service Scholarship Committee. Selected recipients will be awarded one of the following: one $10,000 scholarship, one $5,000 scholarship or one of five $1,000 scholarship awards. If selected as a recipient, the student will be expected to authorize release of information regarding community service activities, essays, and a parental consent form to utilize images and photos of recipients in media and marketing materials for publicity purposes. Recipients are required to notify the Committee of any change of address and school enrollment. Desert Schools reserves the right to make changes at any time.

The Frank Lanza Memorial Scholarships recognize the outstanding academic and leadership accomplishments of students who demonstrate financial need and are enrolled in regionally accredited community college programs in registered nursing, respiratory care or emergency medical services.

Elks National Foundation provides Undergraduate Scholarship for US Citizens for the full-time enrollment from an accredited U.S. college or university in USA in the field of subjects offered by the university. Applications must advance through local, district and state competitions to reach the national competition. A student can apply for, but cannot accept, more than one Elks National Foundation scholarship or grant in any one academic year.Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need. All scholarships are in the form of certificates of award conditional upon the full-time enrollment of the winner in an accredited U.S. college or university.

AIU in Malaysia offers full scholarship to disadvantaged and underprivileged students from all over the world for studies at foundation and undergraduate level. Successful candidates are required to undergo a 6 months Intensive English Programme prior to admission into the Foundation Studies Programme (1 year) and then undergraduate studies (3 years). Stanford University provides Summer Fellowship in the field of Democracy and Development at Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies in USA. The program brings together a group of approximately 28 practitioners in law, politics, government, private enterprise, civil society, and international development from transitioning countries. Previous Draper Hills Summer Fellows have been presidential advisors, senators, attorneys general, lawyers, journalists, civic activists, entrepreneurs, academic researchers, think tank managers, and members of the international development community and even a former prime minister, hailing from more than sixty different countries. The program is highly selective, receiving several hundred applications each year.

The IBM Ph.D. Fellowships are awarded worldwide. IBM Ph.D. Fellows are awarded a stipend for one academic year. Fellowships vary by country/geography and the students will be informed at the time of the award what the value is for their country/geography. All IBM Ph.D. Fellows are matched with an IBM Mentor according to their technical interests, and they are strongly encouraged to participate in at least one internship at IBM while completing their studies. Interns are paid by their host site and will be subject to the prevailing terms and conditions of the internship program at that site. IBM is an equal opportunity employer. After receiving an award, an Award Recipient may be renominated the following year for consideration to receive another IBM Ph.D. Fellowship, based on the Award Recipient’s continued exceptional academic standing, progress and achievement, and sustained interaction with IBM’s technical community. A student may compete annually and be awarded a maximum of three years. IBM requests that a maximum of two nominations per department be submitted, in addition to any renewal nominations.

This fellowship is open to outstanding young professors from universities from developing and emerging countries pursuing advanced research in areas bridging the fields of international and development studies, broadly defined, and working in disciplines such as anthropology, history, law, politics and political science, and economics. Scholars receive a contribution towards living expenses. The Scholarship also covers round trip travel to and accommodation in Geneva. The selection will be based on the quality of research. Quality being equal, selection may be guided by an interest in promoting gender and regional diversity. Candidates should demonstrate how their research stay will contribute to their academic career and their home institution.

PhD students receive 3-4 years of personal training complemented by selected courses and seminars. All positions are fully funded. Degrees are awarded through the University of Tuebingen. Highly qualified students receiving their MSc or Diplom degrees by July 2012 are invited to apply for Spring 2012 selection.

Dr Manmohan Singh, the Prime Minister of India, is a graduate and Honorary Fellow of St John’s College. He is widely acknowledged as the architect of the economic reforms that have helped propel India onto the World Stage. In honour of Dr Singh St John’s College, the University of Cambridge launched the Dr Manmohan Singh Scholarships in Delhi in 2007. These awards will enable academically outstanding Indian students to come to St. John’s College, University of Cambridge to study for doctoral degrees in subjects like Science & Technology, Economics and Social Sciences.
