South Africa 2012 Scholarship at Griffith University, Australia

Griffith University has five (5) partial tuition scholarships – covering tuition for a maximum of two semesters not in excess of AUD$1,500 per semester. The scholarships are on offer to students from South Africa commencing in January or July 2012. Applications will be assessed on academic merit, demonstrated leadership and personal character. Applications close on 9 December 2011. Applications should be sent directly to Griffith International.

DAAD, the German Academic Exchange Service, in association with AIMS, provides five in-region PhD scholarships for a PhD programme in Mathematical Sciences at African Institute for Mathematical Sciences, in South Africa. These scholarship are available to students wishing to commence a PhD programme at a South African University. Funds awarded by the scholarship must be used towards covering the costs of tuition fees, living expenses, medical insurance, books, stationery, research literature expenses, study permit and research.
Presidential Scholarships for International Students at Illinois Institute of Technology, USA

Students who are granted an official nomination by their institution’s President and admitted to IIT are considered by IIT’s scholarship committee for the Presidential Scholarship. Recipients of the Presidential Scholarship receive: $23,500 annual tuition scholarship award $5,000 annual housing scholarship award to support on-campus residence at the university Up to $5,000 stipend for undergraduate research through IIT’s Undergraduate Research Scholars Program† *Presidential Scholars are asked to maintain a commitment to STEM+ community outreach each academic year that engage and bridge their home and sending communities with the communities at the university, in the IIT/Bronzeville neighborhood, and the city of Chicago. Postgraduate Scholarship in Smart Grids at University of Sydney, Australia

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably qualified candidate with a good honours degree in science or engineering to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in Smart Grids.The project is to investigate energy management at the residential level. The project aims at developing scalable control architectures to enable seamless integration of distributed energy resources at the residential level in a plug-and-play manner so they can play active role in power system operation. By unleashing the potential of the demand side, the developed algorithms will enable to transformation of conventional demand driven power systems to future generation driven power systems, dominated by intermittent renewable energy sources.

Margaret McNamara Memorial Fund (MMMF) provides Scholarship for students from developing countries who are currently studying in South Africa at the University of Pretoria or the University of Cape Town- 2012-2013. South Africa Grants for the Academic Year 2013 For students from developing countries who are currently studying in South Africa at the University of Pretoria or the University of Cape Town. MMMF awards grants of approximately US$4,000 each.

University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW), the Government of India (DBT), and Indo-US Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF) provide Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarship in Life Sciences, Public Health, Agriculture, and Engineering for USA Citizens to study in India. The Khorana Program offers opportunities for students (graduate and undergraduate) from U.S. universities to pursue a summer of research in India.Students will be matched with mentors in India based on research interests. Opportunities are available to spend a summer at an academic institution, NGO, or private company in India. Please view the list of partner institutions in India.
