Following the Panasonic Scholarship Program year 2010, this year Panasonic Scholarship Co. Ltd., Panasonic Corporation, in cooperation with Panasonic Group of Companies in Indonesia are very excited to offer the Panasonic Scholarship for Year 2012. We are happy to announce that, the Panasonic Scholarship Program is now open to the graduate students from Natural Science & Mathematics, Engineering, Bio-Technology [Agricultural], and Information Technology. For a privately graduate students from Indonesia who applied the program in Indonesia and selected as nominated, Panasonic Scholarship shall provide award totally up to 8 Million Yen per-person for 3 years Master course at a University in Japan.

The International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) invites research and development institutes to respond to this Request for Proposals (RFP), either from individual researchers or in collaboration with PhD students from Asia who wish to undertake field research in an ICRISAT-NCAP-IRRI project on Village Dynamics Studies in India and Bangladesh. The researcher can make use of the data collected under the VDSA project (micro and meso level), undertake field trips to collect additional data or for ground truthing the data to address her/his research topic. Research fellowships funded through this RFP will contribute to policies, practices and innovations that alleviate rural poverty by analyzing and disseminating knowledge on rural livelihoods, poverty dynamics and development pathways of the poor in the semi-arid tropics and humid tropics of India and Bangladesh as well as on issues related to efficiency, equity and sustainability of agriculture.

UGC-funded institutions inviting applications for the General Research Fund (GRF) for 2012/2013 and the Early Career Scheme (ECS) for 2012/2013. Applications for research project grants are assessed by the relevant subject panel assisted by a number of external experts from all over the world. The RGC currently has a database of more than 13,000 experts whose services may be called upon to assess applications for research project grants.

The Department of Basic Education provides The Funza Lushaka Bursary Programme in Teachers Education in South Africa in the field of Accounting, African Languages; Agricultural Sciences; Agricultural Technology; Civil Technology; Computer Applications Technology; Economics, Electrical Technology; Engineering Graphics and Design; English Language; Geography, Information Technology; Life Sciences; Mathematics; Mathematical Literacy; Mechanical Technology; Physical Science. The bursary is awarded for one academic year at a time. It is not automatically re-awarded. Re-ward will depend on academic success. There is no automatic promise of support for 4 years plus 1 more year. On evidence of academic success, and pending the availability of funds, the bursary may be renewed each year until the recipient of the bursary has qualified as a teacher. Recipients of bursaries will be required to teach one year for every year for which they receive a bursary.

Finnish Government offers PhD scholarship for applicants from Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, China, Cuba, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Mongolia, Namibia, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Korea, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine in Finland in the field of any subject. The Finnish Government offers scholarships of 3-9 months for Doctoral level studies, research and teaching at a higher education institution in Finland. The Finnish Government Scholarship Pool programme is open to young researchers from all academic fields. The scholarships can not be applied for post-Doctoral studies or research. The scholarships are based mainly on cultural agreements or similar arrangements between Finland and mentioned countries.

Each year SA WISE awards the Angus Scholarship, to a Sub-Saharan black woman graduate with 70% or above grade average in her subject of study. The scholarship is awarded for 1 year of tertiary study at Honours level (or 4th year level of study) in any field of science and engineering. South African applicants will be given preference. The successful applicant should become an active member of SAWISE.

Established in 2009 by the Research Grants Council (RGC), the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS) aims at attracting the best and brightest students in the world to pursue their PhD programmes in Hong Kong’s institutions. The Fellowship provides a monthly stipend of HK$20,000 (approximately US$2,600) and a conference and research related travel allowance of HK$10,000 (approximately US$1,300) per year for each awardee for a period of three years. About 135 PhD Fellowships will be awarded each academic year1. For awardees who need more than three years to complete the PhD degree, additional support may be provided by the chosen institutions. The Prestigious Fellowship Scheme under Humanities and Social Sciences Panel (HSSPFS) aims at granting extended time-off and supporting funds to the outstanding investigators under the disciplines of the Humanities and Social Sciences Panel to enable them to focus on research work and writing. The fellowship provides resources for: the employment of relief teachers to relieve all or part of the awardees’ teaching duties and all of the administrative duties; and the costs of travel, subsistence and dissemination of outputs. HSSPFS is not only intended to provide time and supporting funds to develop a new research project but also to build on a research programme that is already well defined and developed. HSSPFS can be used to support a wide range of research activities provided that these activities will lead to significant research or other outputs by the end of the Fellowship.

TWAS-DBT Postgraduate Fellowships are tenable at key biotechnology research institutions in India for a period of up to five years. Applicants may be registered for a PhD degree in their home country, or may enrol in a PhD course at a host laboratory/institute in India. To help candidates in their choice of a suitable host institution a list of biotechnology institutes in India is available. However, candidates are free to choose an Indian biotechnology institution that does not appear on the list.

Chinese Government Scholarship is a scholarship set up by the Chinese government to facilitate students and scholars from all over the world to conduct their study and research in Chinese universities. The scholarship aims to increase the mutual understanding and friendship between people of China and people from the rest of the world and to develop the communication and cooperation between China and the rest of the world in the field of Education, Technology, Culture and Economics. All candidates interested in applying for the scholarship must have completed a four-year undergraduate degree for master degree pursuer and a master degree or equivalent for PhD degree pursuer, be willing to learn Chinese language, if applicable, and receive education in Chinese language, be mentally and physically healthy.
