A Clarkston Scholar is a highly-driven student who excels in the classroom, has a focused interest and passion for the Life Sciences industry, and intends to enter the Life Sciences industry upon graduation. The Clarkston Scholars Program will provide one sophomore attending a four year college/ university undergraduate program in Pennsylvania, majoring in a Life Sciences related field of study a $10,000 scholarship award ($5,000 per year for junior and senior year). In addition, the Clarkston Scholar will receive exposure to the Life Sciences industry through mentoring with Clarkston Consulting and participation in Pennsylvania Bio events over the course of the two-year scholarship award period. The recipient will be awarded the scholarship at the Pennsylvania Bio Annual Dinner to take place in March 2012.
Eligibility:
To be eligible for the Clarkston Scholars Program, each applicant / student must:
-Be a sophomore at a four-year accredited college or university undergraduate program
-Must attend a college or university in Pennsylvania
- Enrolled in a life sciences major (e.g. biomedical, biotechnology, chemistry, medicine, pharmacy)
-Have and maintain a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) for entire duration of the scholarship
- Complete the following scholarship application activities:
-Scholarship application and essays
- Attach a current version of a college/university academic transcript (Finalists will be asked to submit an updated transcript at the conclusion of their first semester of sophomore year)
- One letter of recommendation from college/university faculty (professor, advisor, dean, etc.) addressing why the applicant exhibits the qualities of a Clarkston Scholar
-Applicants may not be related to any current or former Clarkston Consulting or Pennsylvania Bio employees
- Applicants may be asked to participate in an in-person discussion with a Clarkston Consulting representative
- Applicants must be available in March 2012 for the scholarship award ceremony
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the United States
-The Scholarship will be awarded only to a student who fully meets all scholarship requirements.
